Following the purpose of The Barnes Foundation as an educational institution, the Arboretum offers courses, in its classroom at 57 Lapsley Road, Merion, Pa., in the practical, scientific and esthetic phases of Botany and Horticulture. These related subjects have become increasingly important to hosts of amateurs and professionals during the last few years. The Arboretum of The Barnes Foundation now offers courses in Plant Material, Plant Geography, Ecology and Soils, Plant Physiology, History of Systematic Botany, Families of Flowering Plants, Genetics, Plant Propagation and Culture, History of Plant Exploration, and Landscape Architecture.
